Ashlee’s Goals for 2013

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

As 2012 comes to an end it is a great time to start making goals for 2013 {or New Year’s resolution if you prefer}. Over the next few days the gals of Pollinate are sharing their goals for the coming New Year.

First up we have Ashlee one of our Social Media Managers.

I have to admit…when I got the email requesting a few of my New Year’s resolutions goals down in a blog post, I cringed. Not because I don’t like goals. Because I do. I’m your typical type-A, hypo-organized, schedule-lovin’, list-makin’ woman. So you think goals would be right up my alley. Which they are. I just don’t like New Year’s ones.

Maybe it’s because they are too big? Too lofty? Too much of a blanket statement? I like specific, attainable goals. Because not being able to complete something or be successful at something I set out to do is pretty much the worst thing ever to this perfectionist. Which is why having a newborn rocked me to the core. Kiss your completed to-do list goodbye. Forever. I digress…

Since I consider myself a “recovering perfectionist” now, I will go with the flow and share some things that I hope to accomplish in 2013 – one blog “goal” and one “personal” goal. And if I don’t accomplish them, well then I guess I don’t. Life’s messy. Things happen. Plans are made. Plans are broken. No one is perfect. Not even me. Shocking, I know.

Me and My Peeps

As far as my blog/online presence is concerned, I would love to grow my blog in 2013. I really started blogging for more than just the grandparents this past July. I saw HUGE growth over the past 5 months so I am anxious to see what an entire year can do. And since I hate blanket statement goals I will put some numbers to this bad boy. (Talk about holding my feet to the fire!)

I currently have 684 followers vis GFC, RSS, HelloCotton, and Bloglovin’. It is my goal to double those numbers by the end of 2013. That’s roughly 1300 followers. Gulp. I guess I better get started now. So go visit my blog here and help me out! (How’s that for a shameless plug?)

The personal goal was the easiest goal since it’s something that has been on my heart for awhile. I shared a few weeks ago about hating “stillness and quiet.” I’m constantly on the move to the “next” thing – whether it be an activity, a task on my to-do list, or my current season in life.

It is my goal to be still in 2013. To enjoy the season that I’m currently in. And to not wish my baby toddler any bigger than he already is. Luke will only be 2 once. We will only be a family of 3 for so long – God-willing.

2013 isn’t going to happen again. There are no do-overs. Chris and I will celebrate 5 years of marriage this coming year. FIVE. I feel like I blinked and those 5 years past. I can only imagine what the next 5 will feel like.

So, I hope to enjoy this year and ALL that God has planned for me and maybe gain some new blog followers along the way…

What are your goals for 2013? Do you even make New Year’s resolutions? If you had to make one, what would it be?
