SNAP! Conference Recap

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

A couple weeks ago Summer and I {+Zeno} attended SNAP Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. If you’re a blogger in the DIY/craft industry, then this conference would be perfect for you! It is the most encouraging and positive environment for bloggers to network, learn, be inspired, and have a whole lot of fun!

This was my first time attending such a big conference. The attendee list was around 500+! Something magical is bound to happen when you get so many kind, talented, creative people together! I had heard such rave reviews from others who had attended SNAP in the past, and I’m happy to report the three-day conference did not disappoint! SNAP impressed right from the start with their amazing decor. Check out the amazing balloon display that greeted us from the get go! So rad! #snapconf

The conference schedule was jam packed with inspiring speakers, innovative classes and even themed parties at night. The stage below was the perfect backdrop for the amazing speakers that graced the stage during the conference. Emma Chapman and Elsie Larson from A Beautiful Mess started off the conference with their opening speech. Such powerhouses those sisters are! My favorite speaker was the leading wedding and entertaining expert David Tutera. He was super entertaining and his energy was contagious! He even serenaded us during his presentation! Swoon!

Every year at SNAP a community project with all the attendees is done. This year they partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities, and I was so happy to be a part of making a difference. Everyone was asked to make cards throughout the conference in the McDonald’s lounge that will be used throughout the Ronald McDonald Houses across the nation. The blogging community rocks my face off!

The variety of classes offered was mind-blowing! Hands on sewing and creating classes and even classes with an emphasis on taking your blog to the next level! You can check out the 2015 schedule here. Seriously my mind was blown! Still processing all the awesome information and skills I learned.

The themed parties + photo booths were so fun and we were able to connect with so many others! This was definitely the highlight of my trip! Friends who I had only “met” online were just as charming and genuine in real life. Thursday night was a Garden Party theme party and Friday night was a Beach theme party. Trust that everyone let their hair down. Lots of dancing and even Karaoke on Friday.

SNAP also offered amazing GENEROUS sponsors. The networking was AWESOME! Again with the conference being DIY centered the sponsors for the most part reflected that niche. Not only were their booths fabulous, swag was being given left and right. Make and takes were offered at most booths and there were giveaways galore!

Everywhere I turned inspiration was staring me in the face. Even at all the meals, the thoughtful beautiful details were there. The food was delicious, and the desserts were always on point.

As you can see I have only positives to share about SNAP. Thankful they had an amazing photographer who captured all the beautiful images above. The lighting inside the conference made pictures hard to capture from both my phone and camera, but below are a few favorite highlights.

SNAP-Conference-2015-Pollinate-Charging-StationsZeno and me with Pollinate’s charging stations. These were such a lifesaver!

SNAP-Conference-2015-Minwax-BoothHaving a blast playing with Minwax paint at their booth, while Zeno snoozed away behind me. Felt good to get my hands dirty!

SNAP-Conference-2015-Ronald-McDonald-charitySome of the cards I made for the Ronald McDonald House project.

SNAP-Conference-2015-WeRMemory-Keepers-BoothLike I mentioned above, the networking was unreal! I even got to meet Heidi Swapp who was one of the speakers at SNAP + one of my favorite designers! She is a gem and her new Minc Machine kicks butt! It was awesome to see it work first hand. They also had these awesome custom prints for us, so of course we had to take a picture with it at their booth.

SNAP Conference 2015So.much.fun. to put real faces to friends whom I’ve only met online. Ashley from My Craftily Ever After and Randi from Sowdering About in Seattle {both members of Pollinate!} were the sweetest! Thanks for introducing yourselves ladies! It was wonderful to meet you and chat it up!

I feel like I could write a ton of recaps and still not do justice to the awesome-ness of SNAP conference. All you need to know is if you’re looking for a conference where you can walk away feeling uplifted, rejuvenated and inspired to kick butt in all aspects of your life then SNAP is for you! Have you attended a Blogging conference before? Which one and what did you take away from it?

XO, Kristine
