Kyle and I, over the years of our marriage, have been blessed with the opportunity to support several different non-profit organizations. We believe that what we make is not ours to keep, but to use to find ways to give back to others. This is something we do in our personal lives, but we have been looking for ways that we can give back through our business as well. Kyle’s Nana has struggled with diabetes for a long time and we’ve seen the toll it can take on those we love and the people who care for them and when the opportunity to get involved in the Kiss a Pig Gala to raise money for the American Diabetes Association came up, we readily agreed.
Every year in Bentonville, AR, a gala is hosted, where teams of supporters work for months to help raise money for the ADA. This year Pollinate Media took part as a sponsor and Summer, our team’s Innovation Strategist and Project Manager and I flew in to attend the Gala on behalf of the company. While kissing the pig is usually reserved for the team who raises the most money, when we ran into that cute piglet in the hallway, we made sure to snuggle up to it before anyone had time to tell us otherwise.
They did an incredible job organizing the Gala and hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised in support of Diabetes research. We loved walking through the silent auction, although I didn’t do much bidding because most of it wouldn’t fit into my suitcase …. now I know to pack lighter next year. At the end of the evening The Wallflowers performed a concert for all the attendees!! They were incredible and completely reduced Summer and I to groopies. What can I say?
Next year our goal is to get involved with more incredible organizations, like Kiss a Pig and continue to be able to use our influence to bring light to ways that we can be helping others.

Be blessed!
