The holiday season means holiday parties! I love being able to get dressed up for an evening of fun with friends. When the budget allows for it I delight in heading to the mall to find the perfect holiday party dress. Today we’re sharing 5 dresses we love for the holidays. If you don’t plan to buy a new dress this year these looks could also inspire you to see a dress you already own in a new way.
1. The little red dress. The holidays are a perfect time to rock a red dress! Pink Peonies looks amazing in this knee-length sheath dress {her baby bump is adorable too!}. She let the bold color be the main attraction, nude heels and no necklace make the dress really stand out. You could also add a blazer to this and wear all winter to work.
2. Jewel tones + a double necklace. I am constantly inspired by Lindsey from Ruby Girl. The holidays are a great time to wear rich jewel tones. Black is boring, you will stand out in a blue/green jewel tone dress. If you plan to wear a dress already hanging in your closet take a cue from Lindsey’s accessories, think about doubling up on your necklaces, pearls + a statement necklace will bring an old dress to life. Fun patterned tights can also make an old dress new again.
3. The midi skirt. I am obsessed with midi skirts, I own a black one that I’ve worn on many occasions. The great thing about a skirt is you can switch out the top and instantly have a different look. Meagan from Because of Jackie kills it with this emerald green midi skirt. Already have a midi skirt? Perfect, added a simple top and leopard booties or heels. Leopard is neutral in my book, so you can wear them with everything from jeans to dresses.
4. Navy dress + sparkle. Ditch your little black dress for a little Navy dress. Missy from Pop of Style really glammed up this navy dress with lots of sparkle. Sparkle is great way to make a dress you already own perfect for a holiday party. Head to Charming Charlie or Francesca’s, pick out a major sparkly statement necklace and you’re ready for the holidays. {This look would also be amazing for a NYE party!}
5. A little black dress. Let’s talk a-line dresses, they are so feminine and have a bit of a retro vibe, which I love. This polka dot dress Beth from seersucker and saddles rocks is a great twist on a little black dress. Looking to revive a little black dress you already have? Take a cue from Beth and rock a red lip and add a fun bow belt.
