Happy Monday Friends!
This week we will welcome the first day of Spring, hooray! This week we are also launching a new series on the blog called “Where do You Blog?”. Each week will be taking a peek inside our bloggers homes to see where all the blogging magic happens. I don’t know about you guys and gals but I love seeing inside people’s home to get a better sense of how they work and operate {and maybe I’m a bit nosy too, hehe}. So grab a cuppa joe and join us every week for some blogging inspiration.
It seems appropriate we start this series by interviewing Pollinate’s co-Founder, Alissa Circle and blogger of Diary of an Addict.
Where do you blog?
One of my very favorite places to blog is at my kitchen table with a delicious cup of coffee by my side. It’s one of the only rooms in the house that we’ve actually completed, with pictures on the wall and it always smells like whatever I’ve been cooking, which stirs up a wonderful creative side in me. My second favorite place would have to be at a local coffee shop that I frequent. If you follow me on Instagram you might know exactly what local spot I’m talking about.
What inspires your blog posts?
Most days I’m inspired by the world around me to create for my blog. Whether it’s something going on at home, with our family, a recipe that has become popular at our home, or even the fitness journey I’ve been on. I love to share the good with the bad, because let’s face it, I’m human and I have the same daily struggles as those around me.
When do you blog?
I don’t know that I have a specific time of day that I blog. My favorite time to blog is first thing in the morning when I’m enjoying my first cup of coffee and the sun is starting to warm up my kitchen, but I also find myself loving to blog in the late afternoon when I’m topping off my second cup of Jo. Do you see a painful pattern here? haha #addictedtocoffee #ithelpsmecreate
What do you do when you get writer’s block?
I used to freak out and panic when I got writer’s block because I was so worried that people would feel disconnected from me and my blog when I missed a day, but that though process didn’t help my writer’s block but only made it worse. Now when I find myself struggling to write, I take a break, sometimes for one day, sometimes more. I find that when I come back to it after a break, I’m able to create in a more real and authentic way.
3 tips on how you keep your content fresh:
1. Read other blogs, but don’t try to copy their content. What works for them may not work for you.
2. Be ok with taking breaks. Sometimes it’s necessary to stay fresh.
